01What is the practical difference between Alpha and Beta?

Alpha is Nische’s burgundy heavy-duty welding blanket material for more demanding hot work, heavier spatter and repeated handling. Beta is the grey, lighter coated material for routine fabrication and maintenance where easier positioning is preferred.

02What is the difference between Alpha and High Silica Cloth?

Alpha is a coated, heavy-duty hot-work blanket material for spatter, abrasion and repeated handling. High Silica Cloth is an uncoated woven fabric reviewed when elevated or sustained thermal exposure is the main concern. Select by heat source, duration, orientation and handling—not by comparing a single headline temperature value.

03When should Blue Diamond be selected instead of a welding fabric?

Select Blue Diamond when the job calls for reusable protection over a compatible finished floor or surface and verified FR and anti-static performance matters. It is floor protection, not a substitute for the welding blanket or fabric selected to control direct sparks, spatter or thermal exposure.

04Why does Nische state metric and nominal imperial roll sizes?

Nische materials are manufactured and identified in metric dimensions. Imperial sizes are intentionally rounded trade references. For example, 1.5 m is presented as nominal 5 ft, allowing teams to compare familiar formats without treating a conversion as the manufactured dimension.

05What does FM Approval mean in plain language?

For a listed configuration, FM Approval provides independent product evaluation and ongoing conformity surveillance. Nische leads with that third-party control rather than expecting purchasers to recognize an approval class number by itself.

06Does a colour variation invalidate FM Approval?

No. Approved colour variations are permitted. Nische nevertheless uses burgundy as the standard Alpha identity and grey as the standard Beta identity so customers can distinguish the materials quickly.

07Is any burgundy or grey coated fabric equivalent to Alpha or Beta?

No. Colour, appearance, nominal weight and a generic material description do not establish product equivalence. Alpha and Beta are controlled Nische systems tied to specific product identities, supply sources and approved configurations. Detailed construction specifications are proprietary and intentionally not published.

08Does Nische publish complete laboratory test reports?

No. Nische publishes customer-relevant approvals, certifications, safety data sheets and product infographics. Additional technical information is available directly from Nische when required for an application review.

09Where can Nische products be supplied?

Nische supports Canada, Europe and Africa through regional inventory and distribution. Global inquiries remain welcome because a new customer can establish the case for serving an additional region.
